La verdad que al principio he de admitir que mi llegada a Inglaterra me distrajo un poco y me pasé unos días sin dibujar. Tras esa pausa, volví a la carga con ilustraciones como ésta (hecha en un momento bajo, por eso el tema melancólico). Se trata de otro fanart, de "Todos los perros van al cielo". La técnica, acuarela con digital.

I've to admit that, when I arrived to England, I've been a bit distracted and didn't draw anything for several days. After that stop, I continued with illustrations like this one (done in a blue moment, for that the melancolic theme). It's a fanart of "All dogs go to heaven", done in watercolour and digital media.

En el verano estuve bastante ocupado haciendo preparativos diversos para mi mudanza a Gran Bretaña, pero entre preparativo y preparativo, me dió tiempo de realizar algunas ilustraciones, como este fanart de Relámpago y Centella, de 101 dálmatas 2.

In summer I was quite busy preparing all for my moving to United Kingdom, but between the preparatives, I could do several illustrations like this fanart of Thunderbolt and Lil'Lightning, from 101 dalmatians 2.

Esta ondina fue un dibujo experimental: por primera vez probé líquido enmascarador para crear reservas complicadas, como las gotas de agua, y gouache blanco, para ciertos retoques. Por supuesto, lo apoyé todo con retoques digitales, como bien se aprecia.

This ondine was an experimental drawing: For first time I used masking film to reserve white in complicated areas, like the drops of water, and white gouache for several retouches. Like you can see, I also used digital retouches.



¡No sólo de personajes vive el dibujante! Crear escenarios puede ser complicado... este también tiene ayuda de líquido enmascarador (fantástico para los rayos), gouache blanco y photoshop.

An artist can't live only drawing characters! To create backgrounds can be complicated... this one has help of masking film (perfect for the rays), white gouache and photoshop.

Estos dos últimos dibujos son de un pastorcito antropomórfico que me inventé a finales de verano. Del mismo modo que los pastores de cuadros clásicos, va desnudo... ¿por qué no? Desnudez no es siempre sinónimo de erotismo...

This two last pics are about a young anthropomorfic shepherd that I invented in the ends of summer. In the same way that the shepherds of classical pictures, this one is naked... why not? Nudity is not always erotism...

Para empezar, este mes hice la siguiente comisión, que me exigió trabajo de documentación. Aunque resulte aburrido, documentarse lleva a buenos (Y creíbles) resultados.

To start, this month I did the next commision, that required a work of documentation. Even when it's a bit boring, to documentate lead to good (and believable) works.



Este dibujo fue un regalo para un amigo. Fue mi estreno con la tinta azul como apoyo para las sombras, pero el resultado fue algo pobre cromáticamente, con sombras poco vistosas... buscaba más.

This picture was a gift for a friend. It was my first time using blue ink to help the shadows, but the result was a bit poor, with shadows barely noticeable... I searched for more.



Y es aquí donde entra en escena el personaje de "Lord Morrington". Al crearlo decidí dar un giro a mi modo de colorear. Basta ya de tonos planos, decidí dar volúmenes gracias a la riqueza de tonos que la acuarela ofrece en una sencilla ejecución. ¡Gracias, Lord Morrington!

And here is when appear my character "Lord Morrington". When I created him, I decided to change my way to apply the colour. I was tired of plain colours, and I decided to use the richness of tones that watercolour gives in a simple work to create volume. Thanks, Lord Morrington!

¿Nunca os habeis parado a mirar que tendemos a dibujar gente joven e ignoramos a la tercera edad? Un reto interesante es dibujar ancianos y ver hasta que punto nos salen bien sus arrugas.

Did you ever noticed that we tend to draw young people and ignore elder people? An interesting dare it's to draw elder people and see if we can draw their wrinkles properly.

En este mes entregué el resultado de mi primer trabajo profesional, un conjunto de ilustraciones para el número 6 de la revista "Heat": http://www.sofawolf.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25 , donde ilustré una historia muy emotiva, "Learning to live". El editor quedó tan complacido que me ha pedido si puedo hacer un cómic para el siguiente número, que haré encantado.

This month I finished my first professional work, some illustrations for the 6th number of the magacine "Heat": http://www.sofawolf.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25 , in where i illustrated a very emotive story, "Learning to live". The editor was very pleased with my work and suggested me a comic for the next number, and I'll do it pleased.

Este mes seguí volcado en mis tiras e hice pocas ilustraciones, a destacar, ésta, que fue elegida contraportada del número tres del fancine "Menos 2" de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Sevilla.

This month i continued working in my comic strips and i did few illustrations, but this one was chosen for the back cover of the number 3 of the fancine "Menos 2", of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Seville.

Este verano no ha sido mi momento más creativo... unas cosas llevan a otras, y su peso te hace no estar del mejor humor para dibujar, lo dejas un tiempo... ¡y luevo remontar el vuelo de nuevo cuesta mucho! Pero ya estoy tratando de volver a la actividad, es más, la vuelta un año más a la facultad me impulsa a seguir... lo cual me anima ^^ Aquí va una nueva remesa de dibujos que he ido haciendo a lo largo de Agosto y Septiembre.

This summer hasn't been my most creative moment... one things drives to another and the weight of problems doesn't put you in the best mood to draw, you leave it a time... ¡And after that, to recover the level is hard! But I'm trying to recover the activity, and the return to the university help me to continue, and that makes me happy! ^^ Here it is a new bunch of pictures that I've drawn during August and September.

¡Por fin vacaciones! que estresante llega a ser a veces la universidad... pero nada que no se pueda superar con algo de esfuerzo y tesón.


Como novedad, me he pillado una wacom y estoy iniciándome en el color digital. Una vez le coges el punto, no es muy dificil... y aquí os vá una de las primeras ilustraciones hechas con dicho aparatejo y con photoshop. ¡Espero que os guste!

Holidays! The university can be really stressing sometimes, but nothing that can't be passed with effort and patience.

I've bought a wacom and I'm starting in the digital color. Once you practice a bit, it's not hard... here is one of my first ilustrations done with that stuff and photoshop. I hope you like it!
